Arkansas Abby Development is planning to build the Arabella of Rogers Senior Living Community, in Rogers. The complex will feature 13 four-story buildings, totaling 295,000 sq ft, and include 100 independent-living units, 20 independent-living cottages, 60 assisted-living units and 36 memory-care units, plus indoor and outdoor swimming pools, movie theaters, and a stocked fishing lake with walking trails. Idaho Cybercore Technologies, a systems integrator, is planning to build the Collaborative Computing Center (C3), an 80,000-sq-ft building at 995 University Blvd. in Idaho Falls. The building will house an advanced supercomputer for research and scientific simulation, student training areas and office spaces for computer coders. Minnesota Twin Metals Minnesota  LLC is planning to construct a platinum-group metals (copper, nickel, platinum) underground mine and mineral processing facility. A site west of the Maturi Deposit, near the Ely Airport, is being considered for the concentrator, mine access and other mine-related facilities. Underground corridors will connect facilities to the underground mine. The Dunka Pit, an old mining site, is being proposed as the water source for the project. The pit would encompass brownfield redevelopment, with updated environmental management, and be regulated by the Minnesota Dept. of Natural Resources and the Pollution Control Agency. Half of the tailings would be returned to the underground mine as backfill, and the other half percent would be stored in a regulated surface facility. Vermont The Windham Regional Commission, acting as the owner’s agent, currently is evaluating proposals from architectural firms interested in designing the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center. The project will include construction of a 45,000-sq-ft building, located at the intersection of Main Street and the Whetstone Brook and containing museum galleries, retail, a cafe and upper-story apartments. The project also includes the renovation of the existing 4,400-sq-ft Arch Street building, which will comprise museum galleries, classrooms, and artist studios and workshop spaces; as well as the renovation of BMAC’s current facility, the 9,600-sq-ft 1915 Union Station building, and construction of a pedestrian bridge spanning the Whetstone Brook, linking the new building to a crosswalk providing access to the Union Station building. Missouri 2/14 HBD Construction Inc., the general contractor, is seeking subcontractor bids to carry out the renovation and redevelopment of the 16-story, 177,000-sq-ft Chemical Building, at 721 Olive St. in downtown St. Louis. Designed by Chicago School architect Henry Ives Cobb, the 1896 red terra-cotta and brick tower has distinctive protruding bays is on the National Register of Historic Places. Morgan Communities, the owner, is planning to convert the long-vacant former apartment building into 207  residential units. The project has been valued at between $30 million and $35 million. Florida 4/12 The Florida Dept. of Transportation is seeking bidders to design and build the Wave streetcar system in Ft. Lauderdale. The 2.3-mile streetcar system will include 13 stations, which will be solar-powered and feature real-time information and informational kiosks. Sreetscape improvements around the stations will include pedestrian crosswalks, shade trees, lighting and improved sidewalks. The project also includes building a streetcar maintenance and storage facility. The project’s value has been estimated at $114 million.
