Georgia The Augusta-Richmond County consolidated government is planning to build Dyess Canal Village, a mixed-use project, in Augusta. The project entails constructing residential units along the Third Level Canal, converting historic buildings into housing and creating an 80,000-sq-ft commercial center near the judicial center. Montana Bozeman Health Services is planning to add a new patient tower to Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman. Oklahoma The University of Oklahoma is planning to carry out an improvement project on its campus in Norman to the Bizzell Memorial Library’s 1958 addition. The ivy-covered brickwork addition has begun to separate, which has allowed water to penetrate the walls. The project will involve maintenance to the building’s exterior to better waterproof the structure and increase its energy efficiency. The project is expected to cost as much as $20 million. Tennessee The Metro Water & Sewer Dept. of Nashville is planning a capacity improvement and CSO reduction project for the city’s Central Waste Water Treatment Plant. The project includes upgrades to the central and intermediate pumping stations, construction of approximately 15 million to 20 million gallons of new CSO equalization storage, installation of fine screens and improvements to the grit removal system for both the CSO and separate system flow trains, replacement of the secondary treatment aeration system, addition of a new ultraviolet disinfection system for secondary plant effluent, and addition of a new peracetic acid disinfection system for the EFTU. West Virginia Appalachian Power is planning to carry out a transmission project in Lincoln and Logan counties. The project involves constructing 24 miles of new 138 kV transmission line, constructing two new substations, and retiring the Sheridan substation and 17 miles of 69 kV transmission line. Right-of-way acquisition will occur in 2018, substation construction is possible in 2019, transmission line construction is possible in 2020 and project completion is possible in 2021. California Millie &Severson Inc. has begun constructing the Serrano Business Park in Jurupa Valley. The project entails erecting three Class A industrial buildings totaling 327,000 sq ft on an 18-acre site. The project will include 4,500 sq ft of office space in the three buildings. Maryland The Naval Facilities Engineering Command has awarded an $11.2 million firm-fixed-price task order under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract to Edifice Solutions for construction of a firing range at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs. The fully enclosed range will include two structures: a new one-story steel-framed 21-point enclosed firing range, and a new freestanding one-story administration building.
