Georgia The Georgia Dept. of Transportation is planning to construct the Third Army Road Interchange with Interstate 75 in Bartow County. Third Army Road is a new four- to six-lane divided roadway. The proposed interchange will be located approximately halfway between the bridges over Joe Stella Drive and the bridges over Lake Allatoona. The new roadway will tie into U.S. Route 41/Cobb Parkway via a grade-separated intersection, with interchange-type ramps provided to and from U.S. Route 41/Cobb Parkway. Between U.S. Route 41/Cobb Parkway and I-75, the length of the proposed road will be approximately 0.86 mile. To the west of U.S. Route 41, the proposed project will also include the relocation of Dabbs Bridge Road. The project is being designed by Arcadis U.S. Inc. and is valued at $80.2 million. Indiana The Delaware County Commissioners are planning to build a new Delaware County Jail at the intersection of Tillotson Avenue and 26th Street in Muncie. South Dakota The city of Pierre is planning to construct a water treatment plant. Located at the north end of Steamboat Park, just south of the John C. Waldron Bridge, it will draw water from the Missouri River, use an ultrafiltration system and have a capacity of 8.8 million gallons per day. Wisconsin The Wisconsin Dept. of Facilities Management is planning to build Sesquicentennial Hall, an engineering building, for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The four-story, 76,900-sq-ft building will contain instructional laboratory suites, project and research laboratories and general assignment classrooms. The campus data center will also be relocated into this building from the basement of Gardner Hall, and a new surface parking lot will be constructed to replace the one serving as the site for this building. Idaho Engineered Structures Inc. has started constructing a building module factory on a 52-acre site in Nampa. The two-story, 400,000-sq-ft factory will manufacture modules to be used by housing developers for high-density housing projects. The factory will operate under the name Autovol Inc., a subsidiary of the Pacific Cos. The factory was designed by ZGA Architects and Planners Chartered. It is expected to be operational by May 2020. Washington 2/6 The Seattle Dept. of Transportation is seeking bidders to construct a new Alaskan Way Corridor. The project entails removing the existing Alaskan Way Viaduct and constructing a corridor from S. Dearborn Street to Pine Street as well as a new Elliott Bay Corridor from Pine Street to Bell Street. Work will also include constructing a pedestrian promenade, a continuous public open space that facilitates pedestrian movement to and along the waterfront located west of the roadway from S.
