Matt HosterW.E. O’Neil Construction Co. of Colorado has promoted Matt Hoster to executive vice president and Mike Hockett to vice president of client and project development. In Hoster’s most recent role as vice president of operations, he was responsible for oversight of all construction projects.

 

Colorado-based Hensel Phelps Construction has promoted several employees. Allan Bliesmer has been promoted to executive vice president. Derek Hoffine has been promoted to vice president and district manager of the Plains district. Shannon Gustine has been promoted to vice president and district manager of the Northern California district. Joel Douglass has been promoted to president of Hensel Phelps services group. The appointments were effective Jan. 1.

 

Lisa WilsonCarlos Braceras, executive director of the Utah Dept. of Transportation, has appointed Lisa Wilson as a deputy director of engineering and operations. Wilson will oversee the department’s project development and operations divisions as well as UDOT’s four statewide regional offices. Wilson is a veteran UDOT employee, with 24 years of experience at the department. Before being named a deputy director, she served as director of Region 2, overseeing UDOT’s operations in Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele counties. For the first time in the agency’s history, UDOT will be led by two female deputy directors. Teri Newell was appointed as deputy director of planning and investment in 2018.   

 

VCBO Architecture has promoted three people. Melissa Wood has been promoted to chief operating officer. She was formerly director of operations. Philip Haderlie has been promoted to principal. He formerly was an associate principal. Carlos Liñan has been promoted to associate principal. He was formerly an associate.

 

Shawn FitzhughPrincipal engineer Shawn Fitzhugh has been promoted to chief operating officer at CTL|Thompson. Fitzhugh will lead firmwide operations, with an emphasis on processes and systems across the firm’s eight offices. Fitzhugh is the first to hold the COO role in more than a decade. He will continue to oversee CTL’s Denver division, supported by Chris Bouchet, who was recently promoted to field department manager in Denver.

White Construction Group has added several key professionals along the Front Range. Senior project superintendent Dennis Karna has joined the company after more than 34 years in the commercial construction industry. Project safety coordinator Daniel Krus will oversee organizational health and safety practices as well as tracking and communicating safety metrics to onsite managers. John Meyers was hired as senior operations superintendent. He will lead White’s self-performance and equipment group in addition to supporting business development across the region.

 

Robert G. CarlsonRobert G. Carlson, Muller Engineering Co., Lakewood, Colo., has been chosen as the 2021 winner of the Orley O. Phillips Award, given annually by the American Council of Engineering Cos. of Colorado to a member who has made significant contributions to the profession, the council and its programs. Carlson received the award based on his 47-year career as a civil and transportation engineer.

 

Dan Meitus, a Denver real estate professional and president and CEO of Elevate Real Estate Services, has been named 2021 president of the Denver Metro Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
