The Americas unit of global sustainable development consultant Arup, which has its largest office in New York City, has elevated Carolyn Poirier to be CFO. A 13-year company veteran based in Toronto, she most recently served as Americas region controller and financial planning and analytics leader. The company says it has over 2,000 staff in 15 offices across North and South America.

Tim Tierney has joined HNTB in Cherry Hill, N.J., as a senior project director and technical adviser on large-scale rail design, construction and operations projects. He had been president and chief operating officer of Conrail Shared Assets LLC, a unit of the U.S. freight rail company owned since 1999 by Norfolk Southern and CSX. He also is Conrail’s former chief engineer.

The Architectural League of New York named Jacob R. Moore executive director, succeeding Rosalie Genevro, who was in the role for 37 years. Moore was formerly associate director of the Hoyne Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Manhattan-based Columbia University.

Henderson Cos., a Kansas-based design and construction firm elevated New York City office leader Andrew Bennett as business sector executive for its units Henderson Engineers and Henderson Building Solutions. He is a nine-year firm veteran.

Spiezle Architecture Group Inc., an architecture and planning firm in Hamilton, N.J., promoted associate principal and five-year firm veteran Bob Reid to principal.

The Boston-based Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority recently named new senior managers. They include Dennis Varley in the newly created role of chief of stations and Rod Brooks as adviser for capital, operations and safety in an interim role. Brooks replaces chief safety officer Ron Ester, who resigned Aug. 30. Varley and Brooks are former Long Island Rail Road executives. Named chief of infrastructure is Doug Connett, a former Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority official. Sam Zhou was named assistant general manager for engineering and capital. He had been at the New York State Dept. of Transportation.

Rhode Island-based Dimeo Construction Co. has promoted Christopher P. Doepper to executive vice president and chief operating officer. The former project executive and district manager in Connecticut joined the firm in 2005. Stephen F. Rutledge also was named president and CEO, succeeding Bradford S. Dimeo, who now is chairman. Both have led the organization over the past 30 years as its executive vice president, COO and president.

Woodard & Curran has named Tami Ray-Ross to a newly created role as national fiscal solutions leader. She now heads the Maine-based water and environment consultant’s project funding and finance work. It also named Jeanna Long as its first national digital innovation leader to develop and manage digital and data science strategies.

Columbia, a third-generation construction management firm in North Reading, Mass., has appointed Gregg Blair as chief financial officer. The former director of financial operations will be the first person to hold the CFO title since Columbia’s founding 98 years ago, it says. Blair joined Columbia in 2022.

Skanska USA Building has elevated Sean Szatkowski to general manager of its New York regional operations. He previously served as senior vice president and account manager in the region.
