Among the top home design trends popping up in summer 2023, health and wellness features reign supreme, from hobby rooms to health and fitness spaces. Along with wellness additions, homeowners are also renovating underutilized areas of the home for extra living space, whether finishing basements or redesigning existing rooms.
Americans are also adding functionality to their homes in the form of aging-in-place accessibility features and wall dividers for increased privacy. When it comes to outdoor living, rooftop terraces, swimming pools, and outdoor kitchens are gaining popularity ahead of the peak summer season, Forbes reports.
“Searches for ‘outdoor rooftop terrace’ shot up 16.5 times,” Houzz reported. Outdoor connections definitely enhance well-being, and are harder to come by in the city than the suburbs or rural areas.
What are homeowners seeking to add on their rooftops? Besides the normal furniture, Atlanta and Charlotte-based Cheryl Draa Moran noted, “We are getting requests for fake turf, outdoor TVs, alternative low lighting, self-watering pots for plants, and indoor outdoor blankets and pillows.”
