American Airlines and British Airways will invest $344 million in the renovation and expansion of Terminal 8 at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. Scheduled to begin construction in 2020, the nearly 128,000-sq-ft project will add five gates for wide-body jets as well as new lounges for both airlines, enhanced baggage systems, updated check-in areas and concessions. The Terminal 8 project is part of a $13-billion JFK modernization that will increase capacity to 15 million passengers a year.
