The Boldt Company is proud to announce its opening of a Southern California office. Located in Glendale, the firm’s newest office expands the company’s established presence as a professional construction services provider and expert in its Integrated Lean Project Delivery® process and Lean management techniques on the west coast.

Through this office, Boldt will continue to serve its existing and new customers across a diverse set of healthcare, industrial, commercial, higher education and other business sectors.

“Our new Southern California office will be important to our ongoing growth in not only the state, but nationwide,” said Dave Kievet, group president of Boldt’s western operations business unit. “Most importantly though, this office will benefit our customers, as it will give us another location within our national network from which to serve clients on a local level.”

Boldt’s new office in Glendale is the firm’s third in the state, joining its other California offices in Sacramento and San Francisco. Nationally, the firm has 15 offices—headquartered in Wisconsin—from which it has completed projects in all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Contractors expect to spend more time on prefabrication, according to FMI study

Get ready for a surge in prefabrication activity by contractors. FMI, the consulting and investment banking firm, recently polled contractors about how much time they were spending, in craft labor hours, on prefabrication for construction projects. More than 250 contractors participated in the survey, and the average response to that question was 18%. More revealing, however, was the participants’ anticipation that craft hours dedicated to prefab would essentially double, to 34%, within the next five years.
