NAHB recently updated its promotional trade videos to add three additional careers that HBAs, home builders, and trade contractors can use to recruit the next generation of residential construction professionals. Along with its six promotional videos detailing the most common trade careers in residential construction, NAHB added drywall installation, welding, and building systems technician.
NAHB’s efforts to attract and retain skilled workers are ongoing amid a nationwide labor shortage, and educating younger generations about careers in construction is the first step to building up the industry, the organization says.
The home building industry needs more skilled trades professionals to meet the demand for new homes and it's up to us to get the word out about these career paths. Even as we're entering a period of economic easing, all projections show continued strong demand for new housing, making home building a stable and lucrative career choice.
