Kitchell Corp. has promoted several people in its Phoenix office.
 

Dan MillsDan Mills has been promoted to senior vice president of operations, overseeing Kitchell’s public-sector construction and program management portfolio.
 


 

Julie GarciaJulie Garcia has been elevated to preconstruction executive, overseeing the preconstruction efforts of Kitchell’s contracting division in all markets for projects in Arizona, California and Texas.

 

Brian Brown was promoted to regional executive and will be strategically involved with projects as Kitchell pursues more integrated project delivery in Arizona and other regions.
 

Mike Hancock is now preconstruction manager and currently leads preconstruction at the Valleywise Health Medical Center as well as at several other projects.
 

David LeeDavid Lee has been promoted to senior project superintendent. He has worked his way up through the field positions since joining the company in 1994.

 

 


Sundt Construction has made several promotions and new hires in its Arizona offices.
 

Cade RowleyCade Rowley has been promoted to senior vice president and Southwest and Intermountain regional manager for the firm’s transportation group, based in Phoenix. In his new role, Rowley will oversee the company’s heavy civil construction work throughout Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Southern California.
 

Chad Buck was promoted to senior vice president and Southwest district manager, based in Phoenix. He will provide direction to the district’s leadership team and will be responsible for the district’s overall performance, including acquiring and executing work.
 

Curtis SmithSundt has promoted Curtis Smith to project manager in its Tempe, Ariz., office. Smith has more than 15 years of experience, five of those with Sundt.



 

Oswaldo RobledoThe firm also promoted Oswaldo Robledo to field superintendent in Phoenix and hired Doug Peterson, Meliza Torres and Drew Jenkins in Tucson.

 



The Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel has named Sundt’s assistant general counsel Matthew Meaker as the chair of its construction section. Meaker has been in the construction industry for 16 years, three of those with Sundt.

 

Jason HowardMcCarthy Building Cos. has promoted Jason Howard to vice president of preconstruction. Based in the Henderson, Nev., office, Howard brings nearly two decades of expertise to this new role. He first joined McCarthy in 2007 as an estimator before assuming the roles of senior estimator, chief estimator and preconstruction director for Nevada.

 

Travis NestorTravis Nestor was promoted to Southwest regional safety director at McCarthy, based in Las Vegas. In his new role, he will oversee regional and companywide safety initiatives as he continues to provide service in training, communication, case management and policy and procedure improvements. He will also promote McCarthy’s safety culture throughout operations in Arizona, Colorado and Nevada. He has more than two decades of construction industry experience and first joined McCarthy as a safety manager in 2012.


In Phoenix, McCarthy announced several promotions in its renewable energy and storage group. Mike Corso was promoted to senior vice president of operations; Dhruv Patel was promoted to senior vice president of EPC; Nayan Bhakta was promoted to vice president of preconstruction; Matt McMullan was promoted to vice president of operations; and Dan Brown was promoted to vice president of operations.

 

Douglas Gullo has been promoted to director, architecture at Ware Malcomb’s Phoenix office. In this role, Gullo leads the growth and management of the architecture studio and oversees all architecture projects for the Phoenix office. Gullo joined Ware Malcomb in 2018 as studio manager, architecture. He brings more than 25 years of architecture and business development experience to the Ware Malcomb team.

 

Iain OlnessSCS Engineers has hired Iain Olness, who has more than 28 years of experience in the environmental industry, to serve as the Arizona and New Mexico senior project manager from the firm’s office in Phoenix. Olness is responsible for all phases of project management, client service, business development and technical leadership and will oversee professional staff. He also is the Arizona and New Mexico environmental services practice leader. He previously served as the senior project manager of a Phoenix-area environmental consulting firm for 14 years. He also has worked at environmental consulting firms in New Mexico, Minnesota and Washington.

 

Spectrum Engineers has hired Lea Cheshareck at its Tempe, Ariz., office as business development manager. With eight years of experience in the local AEC industry, Cheshareck will be responsible for leading business development and will be instrumental in assisting with the firm’s continued expansion in Arizona.

 

Emily ChinSun Valley Construction has named Emily Chin as director of marketing for its concrete and masonry business based in Phoenix. Chin joins the company with more than six years of marketing experience.
 

 

Tim JolleyTim Jolley has joined Layton Construction’s Phoenix office as a construction manager and general superintendent. Jolley has more than 20 years of industry experience. He works with all of Layton’s trade partners to ensure all parties are successful and oversees field personnel, onboarding new field staff and providing mentorship to all superintendents and younger team members.

 

The PENTA Building Group has promoted several people in its Las Vegas office. Alex Whitmer has been promoted to senior project engineer. Initially joining PENTA through the company’s internship program, Whitmer became a full-time team member in 2017 as a project engineer.

Suhaily Rivera-Ortiz has been promoted to controller. Rivera-Ortiz has provided expertise to PENTA’s accounting department since 2012.

Matt Godinho has been elevated to senior project engineer. He joined the team in 2018, serving as project engineer on a large-scale renovation project. Godinho also serves as a lead mentor in the local ACE Mentor program and works in his spare time with young talent who aspire to join the construction field.

Jennifer Jones has been promoted to assistant controller, serving PENTA’s accounting department by tackling salary payroll duties and streamlining processes in the office. Jones joined the PENTA team in 2019.

 

Wayne SullivanParametrix, Las Vegas, has acquired Las Vegas-based Civil FX, a company that blends civil engineering with visualization and immersive reality. The acquisition will expand the firm’s visualization and augmented and virtual reality service offerings for use in planning, stakeholder engagement, design and construction management. As part of the merger, Civil FX will operate as a division of Parametrix. Employees joining under the acquisition are Wayne Sullivan as senior designer, David Gould as junior designer, Robert Loginov as programmer II and Ivan Lopez, Justin Gould, Szilvasi Gonzalez and Victory Igbinobaro as designer I.

 

Terracon, based in Tempe, Ariz., has acquired Phoenix-based Environmental Planning Group (EPG) to provide additional regional support to existing Rocky Mountain division offices and to provide greater opportunities for EPG employees. EPG’s approximately 50 employees will become part of Terracon, serving clients from offices in Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver and Las Vegas. The organization will continue to serve clients locally as Environmental Planning Group, a Terracon Company.
