Tampa startup Click, Print, Home recently listed its first 3D-printed residential project in the Tampa Bay area, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with an asking price of $599,300. The home serves as a prototype for more efficient residential construction, reducing build time to a total of six months from start to finish and eliminating material waste by about 95%, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Not only is the finished product from the Alquist 3D printer more precise than homes completed with human labor, but it’s also four times stronger than a typical concrete home, according to Click, Print, Home’s founder and president, Matt Gibson.
Gibson said he believes this technology has the potential to transform the construction industry in Florida and expand the supply of available homes.
The finished product will also be about four times stronger than a typical concrete home. “This is going to be so much more resistant to wind, water and termites, which is huge for Florida,” Gibson said.
