City officials in North Ogden, Utah, along with executives of construction sector company partners Big-D Construction and JRCA Architects, recently broke ground on a $12.4-million design-build city building project that is intended to house 30 employees, including 22 police officers and eight civilians. The 25,000-sq-ft, single-story structure will include offices of the North Ogden Justice Court, Police Dept., Code Enforcement and Animal Control. Construction of the new facility is set for completion in August 2023.

Pinkard Construction and OZ Architecture have completed the external structure for Carraway on Penn, a 42-unit multifamily property that is about 34,619 sq ft and that features small unit sizes and lower monthly gross rents. The project is located two blocks from the Louisiana/Pearl light rail station in Denver’s Platt Park neighborhood. Confluent Development and Narrate Companies are owner partners.

The project will incorporate features that adapt to today’s changing workplace, its developers say, such as shared workspaces and boutiques and upscale finishes with convenient access to mass transit, parks, nearby shopping and dining.

“The complex site geometry, a triangle, inspired our team to pay special attention to key corners and show restraint along the street edges,” says Matt Chiodini, associate principal at OZ Architecture. “Sensitivity to the building entries and window openings led to a unique asset that will provide much needed housing in the heart of South Pearl district.”

Pinkard has completed more than 197 senior living, multifamily and affordable housing projects with a combined value of $3.9 billion.
