The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released preliminary ecological and human health risk assessments for a number of pesticides including clothianidin, thiamethoxam and dinotefuran insecticides. The agency also released a preliminary ecological risk assessment for imidacloprid. Previously, pollinator-only risk assessments were released for these pesticides earlier this year and in 2016.

The EPA also released draft human health and ecological risk assessments for the registration review of abamectin, bifenthrin, piperonyl buotoxide (PBO) and pyriproxyfen, as well as the availability of EPA’s draft human health risk assessments for the registration review of bifenthrin and cyfluthrins. The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) is reviewing the assessments and will submit comments to the docket as necessary.
