Thor DysonThor Dyson was promoted to assistant director of operations for the Nevada Dept. of Transportation. He replaces Reid Kaiser, who retired after nearly 30 years at NDOT. Since 2003, Dyson has worked as a district II engineer responsible for the agency’s maintenance and construction activities in northwestern Nevada.


Vincent TatumVincent Tatum was promoted to executive vice president for Las Vegas-based Grand Canyon Development Partners. Tatum will continue to have leadership responsibility for project operations, including the 60-story, 24-acre property known as The Drew. His past project involvement includes The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, W Hotel at SLS, Credit One Bank corporate office complex and Grand Bazaar Shops at Bally’s Las Vegas.


Mike McLeanMike McLean has joined PENTA as a project executive in Las Vegas. He has more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, with expertise in large hospitality projects, including the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and Hudson Yards in New York City.
 


Nithya Rachel JebarajNithya Rachel Jebaraj was promoted to vice president for DWL Architects + Planners Inc. in Phoenix. Since 2013, she has led design and construction of more than 12 new facilities on the Midwestern University campus in both Glendale, Ariz., and Downers Grove, Ill. Jebaraj has served as the firm’s building information modeling director for seven years, leading the virtual design and construction effort across all projects.


Ken HanifanWestwood Professional Services of Minnetonka, Minn., has acquired Slater Hanifan Group of Las Vegas. Ken Hanifan, Jerry Slater and the SHG leadership team will continue to lead the Las Vegas and Phoenix teams.
 


Raj ChavanRaj Chavan has joined Stantec as a regional leader for the firm’s wastewater engineering practice in the West. Chavan has more than 18 years of experience optimizing process and technical operations for wastewater treatment plants. A LEED Green Associate, Chavan will be based in Las Vegas.


Kirk FonfaraKirk Fonfara has joined the Weitz Co. as senior business development manager in Phoenix. Fonfara’s previous experience includes stints at Kimley-Horn and HDR Engineering. He is active with the Urban Land Institute Arizona, International Council of Shopping Centers and the Fiesta Bowl.


Todd OstranskyTodd Ostransky was promoted to vice president of the Southwest division of Graycor. Based in Phoenix, he directs construction efforts across the region. As a member of Graycor’s senior leadership team, Ostransky is also charged with serving and growing the company’s national distribution center portfolio. A 20-year industry veteran, he joined Graycor in 2010 as a preconstruction manager.


David McCallen was recently named director of the Center for Civil Engineering Earthquake Research (CCEER ) at University of Nevada, Reno.
