A survey of more than 10,000 residents of multifamily housing units showed that "residents are highly satisfied with smart home devices supplied by the property owners."

About one-half of rental occupiers with smart home devices use the devices every day, according to Parks Associates, which conducted the study for ADT Multifamily. ADT Multifamily provides single-source solutions for security and smart home system design, installation, monitoring, and maintenance.

"The high value that residents place on smart home devices and the willingness to pay for living quarters with smart home technology can help meet property managers' requirements for ROI when adding tech to [multifamily] buildings," according to the report.
