East West Partners is planning to develop Cherry Creek West, a mixed-use project on a 13-acre site in Denver bordering University Boulevard, the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Cherry Creek North Drive. It will include four mixed-use office buildings from eight to 11 stories with 787,680 sq ft of office space and 61,870 sq ft of retail space and three mixed-use residential buildings from eight to 13 stories totaling 657,920 sq ft and containing 598 apartments. It will also include a public plaza with green space for concerts and events, a market square, a dedicated two-way bike trail and above- and below-ground parking. Gensler & Associates has been chosen as the architect, and BuildMark Projects has been selected as the construction manager. The project is valued at $1 billion. HAWAII

Highridge Costa Development Co. LLC, is planning to develop Pohukaina Commons, a market and workforce residential development, in Honolulu. The project consists of two buildings—one 30 stories and another 18 stories—totaling 586,000 sq ft. The first nine floors of each building will be parking structures. Benjamin Woo Architects has been chosen as the designer, and Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. as the general contractor. The project is valued at $232.4 million. Highridge Costa Development Co. IDAHO

TerraPower LLC and the Southern Company are planning the Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment at the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls. The project entails building a small 200-kW reactor the Dept. of Energy says would be the first critical fast-spectrum circulating fuel reactor and the first fast-spectrum molten salt reactor, which could be built and operated inside the Zero Power Physics Reactor cell at Idaho National Laboratory’s Materials and Fuels Center. ILLINOIS

Moving Pillsbury Forward is planning to redevelop the former Pillsbury Mill site in Springfield. Pillsbury operated the 18-acre complex from 1929 until 1991. The contractor who gets the job will need to demolish over 500,000 sq ft of factory buildings, including a 242-ft-tall headhouse and 160 silos. Moving Pillsbury Forward, P.O. MASSACHUSETTS

The Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation is planning to replace the Ralph T. Basiliere Bridge in Haverhill, which carries Route 125/Main Street across the Merrimack River. The bridge remains safe but requires replacement largely because of the poor condition of its foundations, due to scour. As a result, the riverbed around the piers is eroding. VIRGINIA

LEGO Systems Inc. is planning to build a manufacturing complex in the Meadowville Technology Park in Chester. It will encompass 13 two-story buildings totaling 1.7 million sq ft and will include solar panels with a capacity of 30 to 35 MW. LS3P Associates Ltd. has been chosen as the architect. 2/8 The International Boundary & Water Commission is seeking design-build bidders for the South Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion in San Diego. The project entails essential rehabilitation and expansion to reach a treatment capacity of 50 MGD average daily flow with a peak hydraulic flow, peak hour capacity of 75 MGD.
