In delivering the first data center on a new 165-acre campus in Red Oak, Texas, the project team battled 43 rain days—more than twice the amount anticipated based on a 10-year average for the area. Despite the above average rainfall, the team completed precast erection ahead of schedule. To stay on an accelerated schedule, precast erection work continued throughout the installation of underground utilities and placing concrete. The team moved roughly 20% of worker hours off site, including for the prefabrication of medium voltage duct banks. In addition to a 40,000-sq-ft 6MW IT capacity data center, the project features a 58,000-sq-ft equipment yard. During the project’s 70,296 work hours, the crews experienced no lost-time accidents and no OSHA recordable incidents.
