The Ohio Propane Education and Research Council has partnered with the Ohio Propane Gas Association and Clean Fuels Ohio to offer $1,000 rebates for propane autogas vehicles and lawn mowers. Each organization may redeem up to five rebates for five vehicles for a total savings of $5,000. The rebate does not cover equipment or vehicle conversions. “Even with today’s relatively low gas prices, propane continues to be a more economical choice. Propane is also a more environmentally friendly fuel than the traditional gasoline used in most vehicle and lawn equipment fleets,” Spofforth said.
“Propane autogas mowers are the smart decision for a landscaper who is looking for that clean edge over the competition, and with this rebate more American made propane can be used to fuel our vehicles,” said Eric Sears for the Ohio Propane Gas Association.
“Propane autogas mowers cut the cost of maintenance and overhead so landscapers can focus on their customers,” Sears added.
Other benefits of propane over gasoline include:
- Reduced fuel spills and theft due to propane’s “closed” fuel system;
- Reduced labor expense by cutting out the trips to gasoline filling stations – propane users install on-site filling options or have cylinders delivered;
- Opportunities to lock in propane fuel prices with a local supplier – these contracts usually work out to overall fuel cost savings when compared with gasoline.
“Whether you are a golf course superintendent or a municipality mowing rights of way, there are a lot of benefits to choosing propane. Businesses wishing to take advantage of the rebate offer can download the application and submitted to the Ohio Propane and Gas Association.
