Brasfield & Gorrie Breaks Ground on $20M Wireless Data Center in Starkville, MS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Brasfield & Gorrie announced the start of construction for the new C Spire Wireless Data Center in Starkville, Miss., a $20-million facility that is expected to enhance technology infrastructure in the Southeast. Customers of the data center will be able to access a full suite of cloud-based solutions to help them manage mission-critical data and enterprise applications.

According to Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Robby Hayes, the project represents a significant achievement on many fronts. “This facility will broaden the highly sophisticated and technologically advanced portfolio of services offered by C Spire, and it will serve as a catalyst for attracting new and developing businesses to this region.”

As the design-builder for the project, Brasfield & Gorrie is responsible for the design and construction of the 22,400-square-foot center, which will be located at the Thad Cochran Research, Technology and Economic Development Park in Starkville. Upon completion, it is expected to be one of the premiere data centers in the Southeast and rank among the top data centers in the U.S.

In addition to technology solutions for businesses, services at the center will include co-location, managed hosting, computing, storage, disaster recovery and connectivity. To be managed year-round by C Spire technicians, the new data center also will feature a solutions center, meeting space and the latest in security infrastructure.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility was held Monday, Nov. 18.
