Hill International Named Project Manager for the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science in Miami

MARLTON, N.J. and MIAMI, Fla. — Hill International announced that it has received a contract to provide project management services during construction of the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science in Miami, Fla. The   three-year contract has an estimated value to Hill of approximately $3 million.

The 250,000-square-foot, $275-million Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science is currently under construction on a four-acre tract within downtown Miami’s 28-acre Museum Park. Scheduled for completion in 2015, the new museum will be a landmark in an emerging downtown cultural quarter with a phenomenal view of Biscayne Bay and the Port of Miami, visible day and night by over four million cruise-liner passengers annually.

Designed by Grimshaw Architects, the new world-class, state-of-the-art museum will be an exhibit in and of itself, an exemplar of best practice in energy management and green design, and a showcase for new technologies. The building will harvest water and harness energy from sun, wind and even museum visitors to power exhibits and conserve resources. It will feature a full-dome planetarium, and will be structured around a lushly landscaped indoor and outdoor Living Core Aquarium exhibit, with a series of tanks, indoor and outdoor habitats and a 500,000-gallon Gulf Stream tank, interactive exhibits, two additional wings of exhibition space,   the Knight Learning Center, Innovation Center and cafes. The museum will reflect the innovation and creativity inherent to South Florida’s richly diverse community. It will be a place where people of all ages will discover new skills and enjoy learning about science and technology and discover their potential impact on the world in which we live.
