A crane carrying a load of rebar malfunctioned Wednesday, dropping the rebar on workers below, impaling two of them, reports WSVN.com in Miami, Florida. According to the video report, six workers were injured and transported to the hospital.
The report said the load was being lifted from street level to the work area.
According to NBCMiami.com, the workers were between serious and critical condition. In a video report, said the general contractor was Civic Construction, and the injured workers were with G&E Florida Contractors. The crane operator worked for Morrow Equipment. According to a video report, all three have been cited by OSHA for safety violations, including fall-protection violations.
