For the past several years, NAHB has been engaged in a sustained Member Mental Health and Wellbeing Initiative seeking to change the culture and reduce the stigma in the construction industry around mental health awareness by providing resources specifically tailored to home building professionals on its Member Mental Health and Wellbeing page.
As part of the Initiative, NAHB recently partnered with Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas to conduct a pilot program with the North Carolina Home Builders Association called “Blueprint for Worker Well-Being.” The pilot program, which is supported by a grant from the Job-Site Safety Institute, offers a strategic plan for mental health awareness promotion and suicide prevention that can be replicated by other associations within the NAHB Federation.
