March Construction Job Openings Show Volatility, Decreasing By 182,000, Says ABC

The construction industry had 274,000 job openings on the last day of March, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. JOLTS defines a job opening as any unfilled position for which an employer is actively recruiting. The Associated General Contractors of America released a decarbonization playbook designed to help firms assess, track and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for the projects they build. The new resource, titled The AGC Playbook on Decarbonization and Carbon Reporting in the Construction Industry, is part of the association’s broader efforts to make sure construction firms play a leading role in crafting carbon-reduction measures for the industry. Gilbane Building Company Announces Graduates of Gilbane Rising Contractor Program

Gilbane is proud to announce the Mid-Atlantic Spring 2024 Gilbane Rising Contractor Program graduates. This year’s class includes 23 firms from across the Mid-Atlantic that offer services ranging from utilities and excavation to electrical plumbing and HVAC. To participate, each firm is required to apply for the program, where they are evaluated on requirements similar to Gilbane’s prequalification process.
