A business that applies for the exemption must enter into an agreement with the Governor of Alabama. In 2001 the MRZ designation was renewed for the former Williams Air Force Base, now known as Williams Gateway Airport. New, full-time, permanent employees must be hired within 24 months of the date the financial agreement is signed.
