Can undue stress, uncertainty, risk, etc. Revit, Archicad et al… are NOT BIM, but rather 3D visualization components of BIM. BIM is the life-cycle management of the built environment supported by digital technology. be minimized? Can productivity and transparency be improved? Absolutely!

BIM is the efficient full life cycle operation of the built environment, with the promise of managing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and associated physical and functional conditions in concert with an organization’s changing needs. BIM is NOT 3D modeling (Revit, Archicad, Bentley, etc.), Appropriate distribution of risk.

The efficient life-cycle management of the built environment will not happen until change management is accelerated. This has included “CAD” using PEAC, GDS, MicroGDS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, SketchUp, ArchiCAD and “Raster” using Cadcore/Hitachi PrEditor, ScanGraphics, Scan2CAD, etc.
