To achieve the result in the third image its is all about how you draw the arc that creates the sphere. In this case the differing result is because the normal(s) of the surface that make the void are different based on the direction of the arc, which is controlled by how you draw it. This site is very good.Thank you.

When youre drawing Drafting Lines, you can change the type of curve youre drawing, ie straight, arc, tangent arc, etc, but you cant change the style youre using, ie Wide Lines, Thin Lines, etc. BIM)X: A contractors BIM blog. I particularly like how he separates "Architectural" drawing into three distinct categories.
