Once you have your building(s) modelled start a new project. Import your survey (dwg) into the new project and generate your toposurface from your imported instance. Link your building(s) into your new site model and adjust their elevation and orientation so they are properly located in the topography. Shared Coordinates.

like the change is some new data for the model. I upgraded a model once, from Revit 2009 to Revit 2011, and an odd thing happened. This can reset data in the model. Digital Project (CATIA). Go to a floor plan view and hit the light bulb to reveal the two new coordinate system icons (the survey point triangle and the project base point circle). you can draw a simple building and link in a simple building (by shared coordinates) and move these two icons around a bit (clipped and unclipped) to see how the two models react or.

Are you having trouble distinguishing detail lines from model lines in a view? Well, the easiest way to separate view specific content from model content in a view is to place a temporary filled region with a Solid Fill Pattern that covers the entire view (choose a neutral color). Models from different consultants (who use software other than Revit to model) can be combined for analysis and clash detection. Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? It is more suited to a model that is about graphics.

The survey needs to be a part of the Revit model or Revit wont consider it when exporting your site plan to DWG.

I uploaded Impression, exported my Revit project as a DWG and imported it into Impression. It loaded viewing the model from the bottom of the floor, under the building. I tried to reload it and checked as many settings as I could in Revit to try and find out why the model loaded this way in Impression. Digital Project (CATIA).

If you want to do cost estimating outside of Revit you might try exporting the Revit model as an ODBC and importing the database into Timberline. Digital Project (CATIA).
