In 2015, 64 permits were issued for buildings over 7,000 square feet. Apparently none of those projects are today registered with GBCI as pursuing or having achieved a LEED Gold certification. It is worthy of note that a second jurisdiction, Montgomery County, Maryland (that includes the municipality of Gaithersburg) has promulgated regulations adopting the 2018 IgCC, but the code is not yet in effect. most major projects will pursue NGBS certification) and avoid the 2018 IgCC until there is some experience with this green code.

That is under the bill a developer may pursue LEED Silver certification, compliance with ASHRAE 189.1 The Maryland legislature enacted enabling legislation permitting local governments to adopt the IgCC in 2011 and Baltimore will be the first to do so. Waivers may be key for projects that have been designed, but not yet permitted.
