This article is a statistical review of the LEED projects certified last week. This is a very unscientific consideration of all the non-confidential projects in the United States that achieved certification during the week of October 1 through October 7, 2013. And at the other extreme, an EB re-certification v2009 achieved 87 credits.

Back in December 2011, GBLU reported on legislation that banned the Department of Defense from pursuing LEED Gold or Platinum certification. The politics behind the LEED ban have nothing to do with fiscal issues, and everything to do with wood certification, at least according to one Congressman who voted for the legislation.

Many people, including me , have noted that the National Defense Authorization Act (“NDAA”), signed into law by President Obama on December 31, 2011, prohibits the Department of Defense (“DoD”) from using any appropriated funds to achieve the two highest levels of green building certification offered by the U.S.

Arkansas ranks ninth on the list of top states achieving LEED certification (per capita) for its facilities. The Clinton School of Public Service registered to achieve LEED-EB certification. In addition to enhancing quality, this allows the opportunity for the customer to visualize the final configuration of the aircraft.
