Daryl wrote on Monday that the concept of View Discipline isnt documented well. Software documentation tends to be a bit dry, too often a very literal, "Un-checking this turns the feature off". It was meant to make it simple to alter the appearance of our model to be more in sync with what a structural engineer wants to see.

In this image the massing has been created aligned with the "site" but weve realized that it would be easier to document if Project North were aligned along one building edge. As I wrote in my reply there, RTN is sleight of hand while RPN is really altering the entire model and related views to change orientation. My Loyal Readers!

Meanwhile, autodesk provides dismal documentation. If you want a model of where we're going, look at manufacturing - ISO compliance, material takeoffs from the design product, and even scheduling and means & methods. Revit Consultant - Revit Training, Revit Implementation and Navisworks I started using Revit at work in 2002.
