When we create a new drafting view we are presented with an empty view. We are free to begin our drafting exercise anywhere we see fit. If we import a simple CAD file that has some lines that define where the 0,0,0 origin is we''ll find out exactly where the origin is in the drafting view (use Auto-Origin to Origin).

NOW AVAILABLE ARE BIM LIBRARIES IN AUTODESK REVIT for Aquatherm. Autodesk Revit allows users to design a building or structure and its components in 3D, annotate the model with 2D drafting elements, and access building information from the model's database. The Revit library is 4D building information modeling capable.

Years ago I wrote about using Revit to help me coach my son's soccer team. Since I seem to have an unhealthy focus on using Revit for things that might not make any sense it should be no surprise that I'd find a way to avoid using Power Point. I used a screen capture of each slide as an image inserted into drafting views.

Revit 2016 has both Mental Ray and Autodesk Raytracer options available to us when we decide to render via our desktop (not using Cloud Rendering). Unfortunately it takes quite some time to plug in and unplug something so intrinsic to how Revit works. Raytracer’s Draft and Medium was much more consistent than for Mental Ray.
