Major maritime shipping hubs including Los Angeles/Long Beach, Seattle/Tacoma and Oakland are ready to service the huge post-Panamax containers. Under a public-private partnership (P3) agreement with Ports America Chesapeake, a 50-foot deep container berth was constructed in 2012. The cranes were also part of the agreement.
