Police departments from Wichita to South Bend and Lynchburg to Manchester have all issued statements about increased converter thefts. EPA generally does not permit the installation of used catalytic converters , so it is clear they are being stolen for recycling of the rare earth metals.

Wichita’s aviation manufacturers are supported by the National Center for Aviation Training and Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research.
