The result: two weeks ago, Solyndra announced bankruptcy. In 2007, the Destiny USA project qualified for $238 million in tax-free financing through the Green Bonds program. In exchange, Destiny USA promised to redevelop a brownfield site, use massive amounts of renewable energy, and get LEED certification for 75 percent of the project.

If applying for a transferable credit certificate, no more than half the credit may be applied in a single calendar year. Tax credits must be applied for annually, after initial certification, and will be adjusted to reflect the actual of number of employees that qualify each year. New Economy Jobs Tax Credits are not transferable.
