There are 2-Class I railroads, Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) and the Union Pacific (UP) that serve the parish and a short line that accesses the major industrial areas. There is a four-lane interstate quality highway US 90 (future I-49) that parallels the railroads. Generally these sites are leased.

Construction officially started on the $600-million facility in April 2013 and aircraft assembly is planned to begin in 2015, with a targeted 2016 delivery of its first A320 jetliner. O’Malley, this project is putting the Port of Baltimore in an excellent competitive position for when the Panama Canal expansion is completed in 2015.

The principal and interest on the bonds are paid solely from the funds derived from leasing or selling the facilities to the user company. Effective for facilities placed into service between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2015. Terms for both are normally 10-20 years and can finance up to 100% of the project costs.
