A business that applies for the exemption must enter into an agreement with the Governor of Alabama. The program is capped at 10,000 new jobs being claimed each year by all participants; whereas a taxpayer is limited to a maximum of 400 new jobs per year. NON-PROFIT INCENTIVES: Provides an incentive payment (payroll rebate) equal to 4 percent of the payroll of the new, full-time, permanent employees for a period of up to five years.
