There isnt an easy button to just eliminate shared coordinates in a project. Autodesk "fixed" one source aquisition and the solution you descibe stopped working in the 2012 version. I'm certain I've been able to do this with 2012, not sure I've tested it in 2013. Blog Listing - BIM and Misc.

Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Daryl wrote on Monday that the concept of View Discipline isnt documented well. Well that is obvious but "why" would I want to turn it on or off? It isnt a surprising question, its asked often. the architect isnt using Revit, the engineers arent using Revit, we dont really need 3D for this project, this project doesnt have the margin, this project is fast track, this project isnt big enough, this project is too big". Why assume that we wont learn anything from doing so?
