Building Information Modeling (BIM) can be a valuable tool in the hands of anyone who works in construction. As we saw above, BIM stands for Building Information Modeling. CAD drawings are used during Level 0, but there is no sharing of the generated information models. Softwares like Aconex or Viewpoint can be used as the CDE.

Just because I do not enjoy modeling with Revit, I can keep an eye on what is happening in the industry, especially while the authors of my tool of choice are merrily basking in their achievements having ‘invented’ the ‘Year of the stair’. Last week I went to an Autodesk Event. There is nothing wrong with the concept. Nor is it terribly new.
