The result: two weeks ago, Solyndra announced bankruptcy. As I started thinking about the broader implications of the Solyndra collapse, I could not help but draw parallels to a similar federally-funded green project that has not panned out as expected: Destiny USA. And taxpayers are now responsible for repaying a half billion dollars.

The principal and interest on the bonds are paid solely from the funds derived from leasing or selling the facilities to the user company. The program offers the following incentives: Transaction Privilege Tax Exemption (TPT Exemption) on purchased qualifying equipment and leased or rented qualifying equipment.
