Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? I see the same with these types of workarounds.

We have one model that was started in Revit before we knew any of the limitations of Revit. To add to the complexity, the as-built drawings we had on file were not accurate to the true construction of the existing structure because the original architect had improvised the design during construction. nemetschek AllPlan.

you can draw a simple building and link in a simple building (by shared coordinates) and move these two icons around a bit (clipped and unclipped) to see how the two models react or. In an Architectural Record article " Getting on Board with Building Information Modeling " Larry Flynn describes a Data Manager as someone "responsible for coordinating the various computer files and models that are integrated into a BIM." In our office Data Managers are starting to inspect models for proper construction.
