One of the main reasons Atlanta was chosen as the venue for the 1996 Summer Olympics–aside from being the HQ of mega-sponsor Coca-Cola–was because Georgia’s largest city agreed to build the 85,000-seat Centennial Olympic Stadium. Thus Turner Field was born. We wish them well, but, frankly, we’ve heard that before.
