While lapping up the free Christmas atmosphere of one of the better venues of downtown Abu Dhabi, I was introduced to the ‘Next Generation BIM 360 Platform’ of Autodesk, designed to connect the Entire construction process into a seamless ‘something’. And BIM is going on the back seat big time. Nor is it terribly new.

Search for BIM in AEC – and you’ll find the concept “paper based” mentioned often as the problem that needs to be overcome to DO BIM; I disagree. Paper based’ for me, means designing our outputs to suit the format, size of the medium and that is not bad on its own. Are you BIM ready? I also introduced you to the POD.

That’s why, it’s critical for all construction agents to be aware of the different BIM maturity levels.
