MEP Annotation Symbols vs. 3D Architectural Families. Have you ever plotted and found something like the image below where an architectural object is some how thinking it is more important the your MEP object? Put those pesky architectural objects in there place quickly by making them transparent in Visibility Graphics.

BIM Lawsuit goes after MEP Firm. I came across this article recently in Architectural Record regarding a lawsuit in which the contractor used BIM against the design team and won. Labels: BIM. In the past I have used linked architectural views in Revit MEP to show room names, numbers and door tags. Currently the room tags are reading information from the room object in the linked architectural model and I link that view. The space object in the MEP model linkst to the room object in the architectural model.

A few weeks ago we noticed that we had a linked architectural model with named and numbered rooms. We changed the linked architectural files volume computations to "Areas Only" instead of "Areas and Volumes". I am the BIM Manager for Alvine Engineering, a college instructor and the Revit MEP Content Manager for AUGIWorld Magazine.
