The 4Projects project management solution has mastered this approach. Obviously this works well when you have committed to that solution for all you projects, but 4Projects is not widely used in the United States. This will change overtime, especially with the acquisition by Viewpoint Construction Software.

In this phase, the production and sharing of the information are taking place with the help of paper and non-interoperable electronic documents. CAD drawings are used during Level 0, but there is no sharing of the generated information models. Softwares like Aconex or Viewpoint can be used as the CDE.
