I created a video to describe what happens when Revit contours dont quite match up with the underlying cad file contours that were used to generate a toposurface. HOKs CAD Standards describe a Data Leader as someone "responsible for the execution of the CAD strategy including, the use of BIM, the folder structure and file-naming strategy, use of templates, and documenting specific project procedures." And not just our models but also the drawings we are getting from consultants.

Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? We decided that we also wanted to be able to sort the sheets in our project browser (and our drawing lists) by Submittal Package. and check the category Drawing Sheets. Drawing List. Leave the name Drawing List. The Drawing List on our coversheet shows ALL the drawings from ALL the different packages.

This workaround involves drawing a repeating detail line (with imported text) on top of a simple detail line. Now draw a detail line in any view of your project. Draw your repeating detail over your new detail line as though tracing the detail line. National CAD Standards. CAD Digest. Knowing CAD.
