Traditionally, a value that was represented on a drawing may not correctly corresponded with the value within the specification simply due to a ‘typo’ An example being where a ’60 minute fire door’ has been recorded on the drawing but has been recorded as ’90 minutes fire rating’ within the specification.

In the end, they are ‘just’ a software provider, successful at what they are doing, why can’t I just let them be. My biggest problem is not that Revit is a ‘dog of a software’. 3/ information management tool providers (unlike in manual drafting days) got given an unprecedented opening to influence a globally active industry.

This workaround involves drawing a repeating detail line (with imported text) on top of a simple detail line. Goto Drafting. Now draw a detail line in any view of your project. The office I worked for didnt use Revit for developing working drawings but I do remember wishing that I could add text to linestyles (for phone, elec, gas, etc) and I remember having trouble understanding phases but I got a lot of help from users on Zoogdesign (now AUGI).
