Materials in Families. When building your families you might notice there are many ways to apply materials to your solids. Here are 4 ways to apply materials and some reasons for using each. go to its properties and specify a material for your solid form in the Material parameter under the Materials & Finishes group.

Anyone who has developed a custom remodel residential project can tell you its not as simple, clean, or intuitive as a custom new construction residential project. build your as-built model in the existing phase. The model builder is going to have to do partial demolition of walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, etc.

like the change is some new data for the model. I upgraded a model once, from Revit 2009 to Revit 2011, and an odd thing happened. This can reset data in the model. Labels: Families , Materials , Parameters , Practice , Visibility. We design traditional, high-end residential work. ArchiCAD vs Revit.

Labels: Materials , Patterns , Rendering. How do you model the roof and ridge roll? How do you model the roof such that the roof tile is all in 3D? With the exception of the rake and ridge, my tiles are just a material. If you want to 3d model all the roof tiles there is a shortcut posted on AUGI using sloped glazing.

Once you have your building(s) modelled start a new project. Link your building(s) into your new site model and adjust their elevation and orientation so they are properly located in the topography. While in your site model goto Tools. Save your site model. We design traditional, high-end residential work.

Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? I see the same with these types of workarounds.
