Volvo CE Up 32 Percent in Q2

Volvo Construction Equipment said net sales in Q2 2018 were up 32 percent over the same period in 2017, to about $2.757 billion. Operating income increased, to about $415 million versus $278 million in Q2 2017. Orders grew by 41 percent, Volvo said, and deliveries were up 38 percent to 24,108 machines. Orders in China was particularly strong, rising 72 percent driven by increased demand for SDLG wheel loaders and SDLG and Volvo excavators.

Dodge Momentum Index Moves Higher in June

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Dodge Momentum Index grew.8 percent in June to 165.5 (2000=100) from the revised May reading of 164.2. The momentum index is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year.
