Construction Worker Killed in Residential Trench Collapse

A construction worker became trapped and later died in Northwest Washington D.C. yesterday when part of a house foundation collapsed, burying him. The site on the 4600 block of Dexter Street was described as an “unstable environment” by Vito Maggiolo, spokesperson for the D.C. Fire and Emergency Department. Rescue crews were called to the site around 10 a.m. where they found the worker buried up to his waist in dirt.
