Why should I walk away from a proven product like AutoCAD, when I have so much invested in it? These are very valid questions that many CAD Managers and Owners are asking themselves lately. I can export ABS objects to AutoCAD choosing to flatten them to 2D AutoCAD entities or convert them to be read by an appropriate object enabler.

Translating standard details from AutoCAD to Revit: Now, you can import DWGs into Revit and not do anything else to them. You can also scan details and import them as images but we completely translated our details from PowerCADD to AutoCAD to Revit by way of DWG files so we could improve on their graphic quality once they were imported.

In one year Ive learned what I had to to develop working drawings, weve managed to build up some Revit content, weve organized our templates, and we are successfully developing our details and other drafting standards transfered from PowerCADD to AutoCAD to Revit.

1) Sell the idea of changing software to management Everybody's boss is different but here are some ideas based on ABS. Drawing a single open ended lentgh of 2 line duct with a label in AutoCAD takes a minimum of 10 clicks counting each keyboard entry as a click.The same duct can be done in 5 clicks in ABS. Here's an example.
